IMPORTANT-School Closure

After a review of staffing reports and expected student attendance, Tucson Unified School District will close all schools for Thursday, April 26. A decision will be made on Wednesday about Friday's operations.
Student and staff safety is the district's Number 1 concern. At this point we are unable to secure the level of supervision necessary to ensure student and staff safety on Thursday.

Food service will be offered at all school sites at no cost to all children up to 18 years old. Families can go to any school site. Adults can purchase breakfast for $2 and lunch for $3 each. Please bring exact change.
Breakfast will be available from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Parents should accompany their children as the district will not be able to provide supervision.
Preschool programs will also close, but the Brichta and Schumaker centers will be open and will operate normally.

All before- and after-school programs will be closed. Fees will be credited for days closed due to a walkout.
All schools will be open to employees who wish to work even though students will not be present. Employees who have notified the district of their absence should not report to work.
We will update information on our website, on Facebook (
www.facebook.com/tucsonunified) and via email as soon as possible.
Please send any questions or concerns to
www.answers@tusd1.org.
Thank you!
